Adventure, Leadership & Seamanship on the Water
Sea Scouts, a high adventure branch of Scouting America, is a co-ed program for young men and women ages 14–21, chartered by local non-profit organizations. Built around the traditions of the sea, the program develops character, citizenship, and competence through hands-on nautical education — sailing, seamanship, navigation, marine safety, and leadership training. Sea Scouts earn ranks from Apprentice through Quartermaster, the program’s highest honor, while building skills and friendships that last a lifetime.
Along the Jersey Shore and the tidal estuaries of Barnegat Bay, three active Ships carry on this maritime tradition — each with its own home waters, vessels, and community of dedicated young mariners.
